Bank Employees Help Build Playground for Local Elementary School

CHETEK, Wis. -- The unloading and building of a new playground at Roselawn Elementary School in Chetek began Wednesday, August 9 with help from community volunteers. A dozen Sterling Bank employees were among those who helped put together the new equipment.

The group spent the afternoon building and placing new play structures. Having community volunteers help with installation saved the school in excess of $30,000. The main playground will feature a modular structure that has slides, climbers, decks, things for children to hang on and a bridge. There is also a piece of equipment called a play web that is going in there as well. The play surfaces are beubg upgraded to be safer. There will be sandboxes added with “diggables” and shade structures.

Lee Recreation, of Cambridge, designed the new playground and is assisting with the build. The school administration expressed its gratitude to Sterling Bank for stepping up and filling an entire shift of volunteers. Overall the project had great support from the community and the installation went very well.
